Summer School Options
American School offers both online and paper based correspondence courses. The timeline for American School is flexible and the cost varies based on the course. Students must work through their guidance counselor to sign up for American School. Some information and cost for American school can be found HERE.
Penta Career Center - 2014 Information
Penta offers a number of NovaNET courses for students to take during the summer. The credit recover courses will be administered through Penta's on-line NovaNET curriculum beginning Thursday, June 12, 2014 and ending Friday, July 11, 2014. Students are required to attend for 2 1/2 hours per day per course for at least three times per week. The labs are open 8:00 am to 1:00 pm daily. Students must complete by July 11th. Cost is $100 for 1/4 or 1/2 credit and $150 for a full credit. The brochure and registration sheet is available HERE.
To enroll in Physical Education, you must take into consideration that you will be meeting a minimum of two times per week with the instructor for physical activity, so please dress appropriately. In addition to the physical activity, the instructor will have a project based curriculum to supplement the activity periods. Attendance is mandatory. Please make sure your summer schedule allows for class participation. Students may NOT be absent from any of the scheduled class times.
PLATO - 2014 information
Plato is Toledo Public Schools summer school program. It utilizes the PLATO learning system and students must be in attendance two days each week. Lab hours are 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Labs are located at all TPS High Schools. Students may sign up for once course. It will be determined on a case-by-case basis whether students are eligible for a second course. Students can pre-register May 1, 2014 through May 30, 2014. June 2-9 registration is open at each TPS high school office from 8:00 am until noon. Cost is $135 per semester course. The brochure can be seen HERE.
Phoenix Academy - 2014 Information
Phoenix is an online program that has an outreach location at 1100 N McCord where students can go for help. Registration takes place at the McCord Location June 9th and 10th from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. Cost is $125 per semester course and all coursework must be completed by July 31st.
