Frequently Asked Question:
Q: If my IPDP is returned for revision, can I count PDE's that I complete before my IPDP revision is approved since many times a month or more may pass until the next LPDC meeting?
A: Once an IPDP is submitted, the LPDC feels that a good faith effort has been made by the individual to have an IPDP on file. Therefore, if you submit and IPDP, and it is returned for revision, PDE’s that are taken after the IPDP is originally submitted may count toward renewal. (Providing the IPDP has a corresponding goal) In other words, PDE’s taken during the time between when the IPDP is returned for revision and its actual approval date may count toward renewal providing the activity and goal(s) align.
Use this FORM for pre-approval and/or verification of your professional development expereince(s).
A note concerning pre-approval:
PDE’s do not require pre-approval. Pre-approval is recommended, but it is not necessary to have your professional development activities pre-approved. The only case where LPDC pre-approval is necessary is when an employee is requesting tuition reimbursement for an on-line course. In that case, LPDC pre-approval is necessary for the on-line course to be considered for tuition reimbursement. In that instance, the LPDC only pre-approves the course. The committee does not submit the course for reimbursement. The employee should attach a copy of the returned pre-approval form and submit the copy along with the TUITION REIMBURSEMENT FORM prior to taking the course.
